Richard Atkins Lowe, a 33-year-old miner, who was sentenced to three years in imprisonment in absentia on a drug trafficking charge in 2022, was on Saturday arrested at Two Miles, Potaro Road.

The Guyana Police Force (GPF) reported that at about 12:00h, ranks acting on information received went to the home of Sheron Chowchie at Two Miles, Potaro Road, in search of Lowe, also known as ‘Cat Paw.’

Upon seeing the ranks, Police claimed Lowe attempted to flee but was cornered and arrested. He was taken to the Bartica Police Station and placed in custody.

Lowe was previously charged at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court back in February 2022 for trafficking narcotics. He was sentenced to three years imprisonment in absentia.

According to the Police, he will be escorted to the Lusignan Prison to begin serving his sentence.
