Mon Repos pensioner stabbed to death
86-year-old Agnes Dilon was today found dead in her Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara (ECD) home, bearing several stab wounds.
The pensioner, who lived at Lot 32 Mon Repos North, ECD, is believed to have been murdered between Wednesday at about 17:30h and Thursday at about midnight.
MTV News Update understands that the victim lived alone in the lower flat of a two-storey wooden house. The landlord occupies the upper flat.
Reports are that the victim was last seen washing clothes on Wednesday. However, today at about 07:00h, the landlord did not see Dilon, which prompted her to make several calls to the victim’s cellular phone, but the calls went unanswered.
A neighbour was contacted, and upon investigating, he saw the victim lying motionless on her bed.
“Police were summoned to the scene and observed the deceased woman lying motionless on her bed in a pool of blood with suspected stab wounds to her left and right upper chest and chop wounds to her right hand and right-side face,” police said.
The body was escorted to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, awaiting a Post Mortem Examination (PME). Investigations are ongoing.
