Motorcyclist, 22, dies following Foulis accident


Dead: Jevon Chappell

Jevon Chappell, a 22-year-old of Section 'D' Non-Pareil, East Coast Demerara (ECD), lost his life at about 05:00h today after crashing into a parked motor van along the Foulis Access Road.


Based on reports, Chappell was riding motorcycle CK 648 at an alleged fast rate of speed along the Foulis Access Road when he lost control while negotiating a right bend and collided with the motor van.


As a result of the collision, he was flung through the van window and received injuries on his body.


Some 55 minutes after the accident, an unknown caller contacted the Enmore Police Station after discovering Chappell was motionless.


He was picked up in an unconscious condition and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.


His body was escorted to the hospital's mortuary, awaiting a Post Mortem Examination (PME).
