New Amsterdam man dies in motorcycle crash on West Canje Public Road
Dennison Edwards, a 46-year-old resident of Angoy's Avenue, New Amsterdam, Berbice, died following a motorcycle accident along the West Canje, Berbice Public Road on Monday.
MTV News Update understands that the incident occurred around 17:00h when Edwards, riding motorcycle CK 995 at a reportedly high speed, lost control and crashed into a utility pole.
The impact caused him to fall onto the parapet while the motorcycle came to a stop in a nearby trench.
As a result, the 46-year-old man sustained severe head injuries along with other trauma to his body.
Public-spirited citizens rushed to his aid, picking him up in an unconscious state and transporting him to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital.
Unfortunately, upon arrival, the attending doctor pronounced Edwards dead.
