No bail for man charged with stealing appliances from church

A man accused of stealing several appliances from a church was today denied bail and remanded to prison.
Jameer Shaw was hauled before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court and denied the charge when it was read to him.
The charge stated that between March 22- 23, 2022, at Trinity Methodist Church at Leopold Street, Werk-en-Rust, he stole one MP 50" TV valued at $120,000, a DVR valued at $42,000, and an LG amplifier valued at $40,000.
In addition, he stole one Gemini amplifier valued at $45,000, a Hard drive worth $24,000, and two wall fans worth $30,000.
After listening to the facts of the matter, Magistrate Daly remanded the accused until April 25, 2022.
