One day after being charged, Sophia man back in court to answer to break and enter charge

Charged: Anthony Macey

One day after being charged with robbery under arms and discharging a loaded firearm, Anthony Macey was slapped on Friday with a break and enter and larceny charge.

Macey, 23, of Lot 7 ‘D’ Field Sophia, Greater Georgetown, was hauled before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

The charge states that between July 22 and July 23 at Plake Lane, Guyhoc Park, Georgetown, he broke and entered the dwelling place of Robin Willis and stole a Samsung Galaxy A60, a Samsung Galaxy Mi12, a Samsung J7, a suitcase, a television, a digital video recorder and $500,000. He was remanded to prison until September 2, 2022.

On Thursday, Macey, also known as “Farri,” appeared before Magistrate Alisha George at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court and was charged with three counts of robbery under arms and discharging a loaded firearm with intent.

He denied the charges and was remanded to prison until September 30, 2022. Reports are that Macey was arrested on August 2, 2022, following an intelligence-led operation by the Guyana Police Force (GPF) in Sophia, Greater Georgetown.

It was noted that ranks were on mobile patrol duty when they noticed Macey riding a motorcycle.

As they were about to stop him, Macey reportedly pulled out a firearm from the waist of his pants and discharged rounds at the patrol vehicle. He was subsequently arrested and charged.
