Over $4M worth of stolen 'braids and weave' recovered during Police raid

The Guyana Police Force (GPF) have recovered over $4 million worth of 'braids and weave' following a break and enter into the bond of Junior Hope, a 38-year-old businessman of Non-Pareil, East Coast Demerara (ECD).


The alleged robbery occurred between Friday and Saturday at Annandale Public Road, ECD.

Reports are that the bond was secured on Friday at about 17:30h. However, at about 11:00h today, the businessman discovered the front door open, the place ransacked, and the items missing.


Acting on information received, a police raid at a businesswoman's house at Fourth Street Annandale, ECD, unearthed a number of the suspected stolen items.


Another raid was conducted at another businesswoman's house at Strathspey Squatting Area, where the another set of the suspected stolen items were recovered in a building at the back of her yard.


A total of $4,840,000 worth of items was recovered. Two persons were arrested and are in custody.
