Painter, 17, dies after crashing motorcycle into utility pole
A 17-year-old painter was killed on Monday after he allegedly lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a utility pole on the Bushlot Public Road, Corentyne, Berbice.
Dead is Karan Dhuman of Lot 334 School Street, Bushlot Village. The teenager met his demise at about 01:50h.
Police said that Dhuman, who was the rider of motorcycle CL 9018, was travelling west along the southern drive lane of Bushlot Public Road when he allegedly lost control of his bike and collided with a utility pole.
As a result, he fell off the motorcycle and landed on the road, where he sustained injuries to his body.
He was picked up by the Police and public-spirited citizens in an unconscious condition and conveyed to the Port Mourant Public Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The teen’s body now rests at Ramoo Funeral Home, awaiting a Post-Mortem Examination (PME) to determine the exact cause of death.
Meanwhile, the Police continue to probe into the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
