Police hunting for ‘Leo’ for questioning after ‘Chowmein Man’ found dead on fence

The Guyana Police Force (GPF) is searching for an individual known only as ‘Leo’ in connection with the death of Deryck Sattan-Persaud, a 54-year-old resident of Industry, East Coast Demerara (ECD).
Sattan-Persaud, also known as ‘Chowmein Man,’ was discovered on Tuesday at Fourth Street, Cummings Lodge, with part of his body embedded in the grill of a fence.
According to the GPF, a 64-year-old brush cutter operator who was weeding a yard in the area was approached by a man named ‘Leo.’
The man reportedly requested help to remove Sattan-Persaud from a fence. The brush cutter operator then found Sattan-Persaud unresponsive, with the upper portion of his body embedded in the grill of the fence.
Emergency services were immediately summoned to the scene, and a doctor from the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation pronounced Sattan-Persaud dead.
While no details have been provided on the circumstances leading to Sattan-Persaud’s death, police are focusing their efforts on locating ‘Leo’ for questioning.
The man’s body has been transported to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, where it is awaiting a post-mortem examination. The investigation is ongoing.
