Police intensify search in Buxton Backlands for abducted man
Police officers from Regional Divisions 4 ‘A’ and 4 ‘C,’ along with senior officials, conducted a search in the Buxton Backlands on Saturday for Joshua David, who was reportedly abducted two days ago on Main Street, Georgetown.
The operation, which occurred between 15:00h and 19:00h, was initiated after police received information regarding David’s possible whereabouts.
The search team, equipped with drones, combed the area for any sign of the missing man. However, despite their efforts, nothing of evidential value was found during the operation.
David, also known as ‘Brick,’ was allegedly abducted on Thursday from in front of the New Thriving Chinese Restaurant, where he and a friend went to purchase food.
CCTV footage captured the abductors arriving with two motorcycles and a car. David was forced into the vehicle, heading north along Main Street before turning onto Lamaha Street. The car was last seen on the East Coast of Demerara.
The Guyana Police Force (GPF) had issued wanted bulletins for Alpha Poole, Wayne Barker, Dwayne Griffith, Aaron Alleyne and Osafo Peters.
