Police Sergeant who slapped civilian with gun under close arrest

See below statement by the Guyana Police Force (GPF):

A Police Sergeant is currently under arrest while assisting with an investigation into an incident that occurred on June 1st, 2024, at approximately 11:45 a.m., at the intersection of Camp and Church Streets in Georgetown. Following what appeared to be a road rage incident, the sergeant, armed with a firearm, assaulted the civilian, who was carrying a cutlass.

The matter was reported to the Alberttown Police Station, and the civilian has since undergone a medical examination. The Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) is currently investigating the issue.
