Popular TikToker arrested after cocaine found in religious items
Famous Tik Toker Lisa Ramnarine was on Tuesday arrested by ranks of the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) after a package containing Hindu religious items with her name was found with cocaine concealed inside.
CANU, in a statement, said that acting on information received, went to DHL Guyana, located at 50 E Fifth Street, Alberttown Georgetown.
During the operation, a package consisting of a Hindu Havan Kund and other religious items was located with suspected cocaine.
Upon examining the items, the suspected narcotics were found in a hidden compartment of the Kund.
The sender’s information was retrieved by ranks, which led to the arrest of Ramnarine, 23, of Hague, West Coast Demerara (WCD).
She was escorted to CANU’s Headquarters, where the item was dismantled in her presence, and tested positive for cocaine. It weighed 540 grams. The 23-year-old woman is in custody as the investigation continues.
