Popular Tik Toker gets bail over cocaine found in religious items

Well-known Tik Toker Lisa Ramnarine was on Tuesday morning granted $350,000 bail by Senior Magistrate Leron Daly.

When Ramnarine appeared in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, her lawyer, Bernard Da Silva, made an application for bail, which was granted.

As a result, the matter was adjourned to January 2, 2023.

Ramnarine of Hague, West Coast Demerara (WCD) had pleaded not guilty to the charge, which stated that on June 7, 2022, at DHL Express, 50 Fifth Street, Alberttown, Georgetown, she had 540 grams of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

MTV News Update previously reported that ranks of CANU, acting on information received, went to DHL Headquarters, where they intercepted a parcel containing a Hindu Havan Kund, as well as other religious items.

Upon examining the items, the suspected cocaine was found in a hidden compartment of the Kund. The sender’s information was retrieved by ranks, leading to Ramnarine’s arrest.

She was escorted to CANU’s Headquarters, where the item was dismantled in her presence, and tested positive for cocaine.

The court heard testimonies from five persons in this case.
