- Says he is hopeful to meet with the Opposition's youth arm.

President Dr Irfaan Ali says he is committed to meeting with the youth arm of the opposition as the establishment and operationalisation of the President’s Youth Advisory Council is expected in April.
Dr Ali explained that he had anticipated this meeting for quite some time, but it was stalled as a result of his participation in various overseas engagements.
When asked whether the youth arm of the People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR), has already indicated its willingness to meet with him, the Head of State responded and said: “I am going to meet with the youth arm that I will tell you - you will see that happening.”
The President in his New Year’s message had made it clear that he will engage with individually organised groups of young people, including youth arms of all political parties.
In budget 2022 a sum of $60M was approved by the committee of supply to ensure that the Advisory Council is established.
