Dhuman and Azimullah received death sentences, while Zahir and Batson received life sentences. As for Budhram, he was sentenced to 17 years behind bars.
It was the prosecution’s case that the men, on February 8, 2017, at Adventure Village, Corentyne, Berbice, murdered Jagdeo during the course of a robbery.
Media reports are that Jagdeo was distributing phone cards when he was shot and killed.
The men reportedly relieved Jagdeo of a bag that contained an undisclosed sum of cash and a quantity of phone cards before escaping on a waiting motorcycle.
