Raid exercise at Mahdia Arcade nets over 100 grams of ganja
A raid exercise conducted by ranks of Region Eight last week resulted in the seizure of 145 grams of marijuana.
The Guyana Police Force (GPF) reported that it conducted a “raid exercise” at the Mahdia Arcade area for illegal firearms, ammunition, narcotics, and stolen articles, but nothing illegal was found.
“During the search, Police found two black plastic bags containing a quantity of leaves, seeds, and stems suspected to be Cannabis. One of the bags was stuck between a wooden post and zinc, and the other was found under an old mat in a garbage heap - an open area where numerous persons could gain access,” the Police Force said.
The drugs, when weighed, amounted to 120 grams and 25 grams, respectively.
