A father of three was today found guilty of repeatedly raping a 15-year-old girl in 2014.
45-year-old Esan Germain had previously pleaded not guilty to three counts of rape of a child under the age of 16 when he appeared before Justice Priya Sewnarine-Beharry in the High Court.
Germain, who is currently serving a 65-year prison sentence for child rape, was found guilty on all counts by a 12-member jury.
Sentencing for the convict has been deferred to later this month.
Germain raped the girl on three occasions between January and July 2014.
On July 23, 2014, the girl was going to the shop when she saw her mother whom she confided in. The mother reported the matter to the Police, and Germain was arrested.
In December 2017, Germain was convicted of three counts of child rape by a jury following a trial before Justice Simone Morris-Ramlall at the High Court.
The indictments stated that sometime during 2010, 2012, and 2013, he performed oral sex on the child, and in turn, caused her to do the same to him.
One of the indictments also stated that he rubbed his penis against the girl’s vagina.
