Security officer nabbed with AK-47 ammunition jailed for two years
Orin Younge, also known as ‘Orin Matthews,’ who was arrested last Friday with 15 live AK-47 rounds of ammunition, was jailed for two years on Monday.
Younge, a 36-year-old security officer of Middle Street, Buxton, East Coast Demerara (ECD) was hauled before Magistrate Fabayo Azore in the Vigilance Magistrate’s Court and accepted ownership of the ammunition.
He was arrested after Police received information that he had allegedly assaulted and threatened his child’s mother.
In a statement, the Guyana Police Force (GPF) said that ranks received information that the man assaulted the mother of his child and even pointed a gun at her when he heard her talking to the Police on the phone.
As such, law enforcement officials went to the location and arrested him. A search of the premises unearthed the ammunition. However, checks for the firearm yielded no results.
