‘Short Boss’ arraigned for murder of East Ruimveldt man
Rollot Rowley, also known as ‘Short Boss,’ has been slapped with a murder charge and remanded to prison.
Rowley, a 34-year-old father of two, was hauled before Chief Magistrate (ag) Sherdel Issacs-Marcus in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, where the charge was read to him.
He is accused of murdering 52-year-old Shawn George on April 24, 2024, at 264 Vlissengen Square, Georgetown.
MTV News Update had reported that George was seated on a bench in front of a grocery shop at Vlissengen Square when Rowley, riding a motorcycle, allegedly called him an “anti-man.”
Enraged, George challenged Rowley, leading to a physical confrontation. During the scuffle, which moved to a nearby drain, Rowley reportedly whipped out a knife and inflicted four stab wounds on George—one to his left forearm and three to his left side abdomen.
After the attack, the court heard that the defendant fled the scene on his motorcycle, leaving George, 52, injured in the drain.
The 52-year-old man was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital but succumbed to his injuries. Police were notified, and the murder weapon was recovered.
