Skidder wheel explodes, killing Logger
A Logger was killed on Friday after a skidder wheel exploded while he was working on a logging concession at Evening Creek, Corentyne River, Berbice.
The dead man has so far been identified as Urick, 32. He was among his colleagues working when tragedy struck.
According to information received, at about 18:00h, a businessman of Crabwood Creek reported to the Police that he received a call from his Concession Manager, informing him that several workers were changing a wheel on the skidder when it exploded.
He added that after the wheel exploded, Urick collapsed and was seen lying motionless. The 32-year-old man was also seen with injuries to his body.
