Some citizens fully support Jagdeo staying in office although Opposition calls for him to resign

Some citizens are in full support of Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo staying in office despite calls made from A Partnership For National Unity (APNU) and the Alliance For Change (AFC) for him to resign. The Opposition coalition made the call over allegations that the Vice President is using his Government office for his personal gain. But some citizens believe that the senior Government official would never be involved in such a scandal.

Alexander Persaud, a taxi driver related “That man have sense. I don’t think he would do that he won’t talk them thing with any and all body and them want he go? He is the best thing that happen to this country.”

Our team also spoke with a housewife Leela Ramsook who said that “He will never do that, all them years he is President he only move the country forward I don’t think he will do da and they want he resign but them na go do a better job than he look how much they help people.”

Her son, Nathranand Ramsook added “yes I fully agree he should not resign. Me watch that whole video and da man never take a bribe,me na know how they come up with da. He is the best politician this country got right now and if he go then me na know wa go happen.”

Michellena Guerrara, a sales representative who recently re-migrated to Guyana said “I don’t think he should go. He is very good.”

Meanwhile, there were a few persons who agreed that while the Vice President may not be involved in the alleged corruption it is best to have an investigation to “clear the air.”

Joseph Bramer, a bus driver related “I think they should do the investigation and see wa really going on you know. He might not do it but it got people out deh like talk all thing.”

Dr.Jagdeo has since denied the claims made against him and noted that he will be taking legal actions against ‘Su’.
