- Henry's resignation takes effect from today

Nicolette Henry announced her resignation from the National Assembly earlier in February during the budget 2022 debate while Former Leader of the Opposition Joseph Harmon announced his resignation in March.
Henry’s resignation takes effect from today March 31 while Harmon’s took effect since March 15.
This means that there are now two vacant positions for Members of Parliament (MPs) existing within the APNU+AFC opposition party.

Speaker of the National Assembly Manzoor Nadir has written to the Leader of the coalition’s list of candidates, David Granger, informing him that he needs to submit the names of the persons who will be filling the vacant positions.
It is expected that leader of the People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR), Aubrey Norton will fill Henry’s position and subsequently be named Leader of the Opposition, while the other candidate remains unknown.
The Opposition has been functioning without an Opposition Leader for just over two months.
