Taxi driver busted with over 50 pounds of ganja remanded


Charged: Nicholas Whyte

Nicholas Whyte, who was busted at the weekend with over 50 pounds of marijuana, has been charged and remanded to prison.


The 22-year-old, who hails from Shell Road, Kitty, Georgetown, appeared before Senior Magistrate Clive Nurse in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court and denied the charge when it was read to him.


He was remanded and will make another court appearance on June 30, 2024, for report.

MTV News Update reported that Whyte was intercepted on Sunday in a Premio motor car bearing registration number PAC 4402 at Ramp Road, Ruimveldt.


At the time of the interception, the 22-year-old man was the lone occupant. A search was conducted on the vehicle, and a salt bag containing the marijuana was found.
