Psyiffia Boodram of Lot 4 Public Road, Ruimveldt, Georgetown, was hauled before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
She denied the charge, which stated that on May 29, 2024, at Ruimveldt, Georgetown, she had 3015 grams of marijuana in her possession for the purpose of trafficking. She was remanded to prison until June 21, 2024.
The prosecution’s case is that on the day in question, ranks, acting on information received, went to Lot 4 Public Road, Ruimveldt, and made contact with Boodram.
The ranks identified themselves and informed the teacher that they were in receipt of information that narcotics were being stored at the location and requested to conduct a search on the premises.
During the search, the officers focused on a bedroom on the upper floor, which was secured with a padlock. Boodram was asked to unlock the room, and inside, the police discovered the marijuana, which weighed 3015 grams.
