Three charged with rape of Venezuelan woman

Three men were on Monday charged for raping a Venezuelan national in Bartica, Region Seven.

The accused are 24-year-old Ryan Hendro, a miner of Sheet Anchor, Berbice, 22-year-old Aubrey Garraway, a miner of Second Avenue, Bartica and 29-year-old Kevin Pollard called ‘Chiney,’ a boat captain of Itaballi Landing.

The trio was hauled before Magistrate Crystal Lambert in the Bartica Magistrate’s Court and was not required to plead to the indictable charge.

The states that on September 26, 2022, at Second Avenue, Bartica, Essequibo River, they raped the 32-year-old female Venezuelan National.

Hendro and Pollard were granted $300,000 bail each, while Garraway was remanded to prison. The matter was adjourned to October 21, 2022.
