Trio arrested in Lethem for 'weed' in ziplock baggies
The Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) officers have arrested three men in Tabatinga, Lethem following the discovery of 31 small ziplock bags of cannabis that amounted to 48 grams.
A CANU press release identifies the men arrested as Jason Clement; 21, Leylon Winter; 24, both of Tabatinga Central Rupununi, Lethem, and Neil Ross; 37, of Bachelors Adventure, East Coast Demerara.
According to CANU the operation that nabbed the men is part of the agency's strategy to combat micro-trafficking within various communities including schools as recently reported in the press.
Investigations are ongoing.
