Vagrant found dead with stab wound on Water and Holmes Sts
Edward Bramnarine, also known as ‘Eddy,’ a 49-year-old vagrant, was found dead on Thursday night with a stab wound to the chest and a cut on the right wrist on Water and Holmes Streets, Georgetown.
According to a female vendor who has known Bramnarine for over 18 years, she was on her way home when she discovered the man’s body lying on the street, bleeding from a wound to his left side chest. At the time, no one else was in the vicinity.
Promptly, the vendor alerted the Ambulance Service, which swiftly arrived at the scene. However, despite their efforts, Bramnarine was pronounced dead by a Doctor from the Georgetown Public Hospital.
Bramnarine was found lying on his back, with apparent blood stains on his clothing and on the ground surrounding him. Detectives observed one stab wound to his chest and a cut to his right wrist. The area was cordoned off and processed by detectives, who questioned several individuals in relation to the incident.
The deceased’s body has since been transferred to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, awaiting a post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death.
