Vendor nabbed with over 10lbs of ganja in Eccles house

A 27-year-old vendor is in police custody after he was nabbed with 6,000 grams or 13 pounds of marijuana at Eccles Old Road, East Bank Demerara (EBD) on Thursday.

The Guyana Police Force (GPF) said that at about 13:00h, ranks went to Eccles and informed the vendor of their presence. The ranks requested to carry out a search on the premises, and the vendor agreed.

During the search in one of the bedrooms, a transparent bulky plastic bag containing marijuana was found in a bucket and $15,300 in cash.

The 27-year-old man was cautioned, arrested, and escorted to the Divisional headquarters along with the narcotics, which was weighed in his presence. The 27-year-old remains in custody as the investigation continues.
