West LaPenitence woman nabbed with marijuana at Bartica
A West LaPenitence woman was on Thursday arrested by ranks of the Guyana Police Force (GPF) with a quantity of marijuana at the Bartica Bartica Stelling.
A police report stated that a party of policemen were at Bartica Stelling conducting searches on incoming passengers, during which a 54-year-old woman, who is a vendor of West LaPenitence, Georgetown, was taken to Bartica Police Station with her personal belongings.
While at the station, a rank searched her red and blue travelling bag and found a black parcel containing a quantity of leaves, seeds, and stems suspected to be cannabis.
She was told of the offence committed, cautioned, arrested, where she admitted ownership of the illegal substance. The cannabis was weighed in her presence and amounted to 1,416 grams. She is in custody at Bartica Police Station pending charges.
