Woman stabs boyfriend during argument over phone call

A 27-year-old labourer is currently hospitalised after he was stabbed to the neck by his girlfriend during an argument over a phone call she received from another man.


The injured man has been identified as Linden Davidson of Evan Street, Charlestown. He was stabbed at about 22:00h on Monday. Reports are that Davidson and the suspect shared an intimate relationship.


However, at about 22:00h, the suspect received a phone call from another man, and an argument ensued between the two. The suspect then armed herself with a knife and dealt the victim one stab to his neck.


The victim then managed to jump onto a bicycle, ride to the Ruimveldt Police Station, and make a report. He was subsequently rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he was admitted as a patient, and his condition is listed as critical.


The suspect was later arrested at Ruimveldt Police Station and placed into custody. Investigations are in progress.
