Around 1500 young professional homes would start construction soon in La Bonne Intention on the East Coast Demerara and another 100 in Great Diamond on the East Bank Demerara.

Croal made these statements during a tour of the model homes of the young professional unit at the International Building Expo. "The young professional houses are actually in high demand, this is one of the highly demanded type of house we’ve been receiving and so far you can go to Providence, you can see the models there.”

Minister Croal is urging persons with families to apply for this model of house as it is very spacious. “When you wanna plan for yourself and your family, you must assess what is it that you can afford, because each one of us have their own niche, we have our own demand, we have our own expense, we have our own family size. So, with these three bedroom, it allows you to grow.

A flat (bungalow) young professional home costs approximately 12.9 million and is built on land by a 75x75 unit while an elevated young professional home costs 18.9 million. All two types of the young professional units feature three bedrooms.

Persons who are interested in this type of home can apply at the international expo which is currently being held at the National Stadium.
